Sir Ranulph Fiennes has pulled out of an expedition across Antarctica in winter before it even begins because of severe frostbite. The 68-year-old, dubbed the world's greatest living explorer, had been training at a base camp in Antarctica. His five team-mates will still embark on the 2,000-mile (3,219km) trek, known as The Coldest Journey on Earth.
