NORTHSIDE - Friends Jana Douglass and Jessica Bechtel turned their vegan lifestyles and love of baking into a small business, Happy Chicks Bakery, that is finding a following among both vegan and non-vegan baked-goods lovers. Former co-workers with backgrounds in graphic art, Douglass and Bechtel launched Happy Chicks nearly a year ago from Bechtel's home kitchen in Northside.
