Having a public presence has always been uncomfortable for me. I always prefer writing for someone else and as someone else.
@AlohaArleen Actually, I was going for a Jewish Malcolm X look. Trying to teach message writing to the young Hebrew brothers. Thank you.
@Typically_D I'd love to get to the actual writing part. Unfortunately, for me at least, any kind of drinking is out when theme-ing.
@occhirogirl I don't know. I haven't needed one for a long time but I'm writing one now. @Technosailor wrote a comprehensive book on WP.
@yuu_key @yukarip I have a knack of crafting messages that tend to go viral. (There's an art and a science to viral copy writing.)
Writing posts for Twitter isn't much different than writing for any other format. It's just shorter, which makes it all the more intense.
Most of the advice I read about writing copy for Twitter is either misguided or flat out wrong. I know that comes across as being brash.
Great writing... Great writing cannot be contained, constrained or controlled. Great writers take risk with ideas, content, and imagery.
@jewelry_diy Not to mention, it makes writing that much harder. The best writing comes from the heart, not the head. CC: @lizstrauss
The best advice I can give about writing, @jewelry_diy, is write first and then think. Thinking first makes writing incredibly difficult.
So instead tonight, I opened a Word document, rather than writing from within G+. This should help some. Now, a good title and subheadings!
I'm lucky that I can just start writing. The challenge comes later with the title and the subheadings, which take more time than the post.
Sometimes I start writing and come up with a title and subheaders after the fact. This is a much harder thing to do than writing a the post.
@PeggyDolane I've been writing humor for a very long time... And I've always had a relatively large online following.
@PeggyDolane Right. Same here. I used to only write long form. Now half the time I'm writing status updates and text messages.
It just caught up with me... Did @joshrizzo really just ask me hours ago if I had considered writing a book on how to be a dick on Twitter?
Today is magic proposal writing day... Sending out 3 proposals.
@hamsterjae In truth, I used to write on Twitter, about writing on Twitter rather frequently. These days, not nearly as much if ever.
And I've been doing this since I first got on Twitter in 2007. Writing in 140 character bursts is not like any other kind of writing.
54 minutes left on the Alienware M11x... I'm going to have to use the Acer. Not bad battery life considering I've been writing since 10 AM.
