I think more people would be comfortable with a pathway to resident alien status than rewarding lawbreakers with voting privileges.
permanent resident aliens aren't supposed to vote, whereas naturalised citizens can.
the insidious thing about the whole alien/immigrant thing is politicians are talking "pathway to citizenship", not permanent resident alien.
An immigrant is either a foreign-born citizen, or a permanent resident alien. An immigrant cannot be an illegal alien.
if aliens tapped into the internet to get to know us, they would not get a representative sample.
